My first autumn away from home. Since I went away for good. No winter boots. No farms nor fields. No cider, no frozen water wheels. There’s metal things on grassy fields. I regret to tell you that I’m leaving but to where I don’t know yet. I realized I must follow the breeze and the falling autumn leaves. I am tying my shoelaces. Wait! please don’t lock the wooden door, I left all my things on your back porch. I lied all I wanna do is sail a boat around the world with you. The wind stopped blowing when I left your side and forgot what you tasted like. I am, will always be, barefoot. I can’t stop thinkin’ about, I crossed a babbling brook to where you said you’d be I built a dam in the woods by the edge of the creek I’ll build my home here.
